From Struggles to Success Dr Amisha Garasia Secures Top Rank in GPSC Class 1 Exam

Dr Amisha Naranbhai Garasia a talented daughter of Nani Vahiyal village in Dharampur taluka has proven that sheer determination can overcome any obstacle. In the recent Gujarat Public Service Commission GPSC 2025 results for the position of Dental Special Surgeon Class 1 in the State Health Department she achieved an extraordinary feat by securing the first rank among the entire tribal community of Gujarat. Her selection as a Class 1 officer has brought immense pride not only to her family but also to the entire tribal society of the region. This success is a testament to her lifelong commitment to education and hard work despite humble beginnings in a rural area.

Currently serving as a Dental Surgeon Class 2 at the Vav Tharad Sub District Hospital for the last three and a half years Dr Amisha achieved this latest success without any formal coaching classes. Her preparation was a model of time management and dedication as she balanced a full time medical job with rigorous study. She utilized her breaks after outpatient department OPD hours and her late evening hours for consistent revision and study. This self taught approach highlights her intellectual discipline and serves as a powerful inspiration for thousands of young aspirants preparing for competitive examinations across the state who may not have access to expensive urban coaching centers.

Reflecting on her journey Dr Amisha recalls the early days of struggle that shaped her character. Living in Nani Vahiyal a village situated away from the main road she had to navigate significant physical challenges just to attend school. Every day she would travel a total of six kilometers either on foot or by bicycle to reach the Lakadmal crossing to catch transport to Nanapondha High School. This daily struggle did not deter her but instead fueled her ambition to excel. It was during this period that she first tasted major academic success by securing the top position in the Kaprada taluka during her Class 10 board examinations setting the stage for her future medical career.

Dr Amisha is the third of five daughters born to retired teacher parents who prioritized education above all else. After her schooling she earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery BDS from the prestigious Government Dental College in Ahmedabad. She did not stop there and went on to pursue her Master of Dental Surgery MDS in Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge from the Maxillofacial Hospital at the same institution in Ahmedabad. She attributes her vast success to the unwavering support of her parents and the academic guidance provided by her professors at the Government Dental College and Civil Hospital who mentored her throughout her medical journey.

With her promotion to a Class 1 officer position Dr Amisha has expressed a strong desire to serve her home region with even greater medical expertise. Her primary goal is to provide specialized dental treatments that are often unavailable in rural tribal belts. Beyond her professional duties she intends to remain active in the social and health sectors of Nani Vahiyal village. She wants to act as a mentor for the youth in her community guiding them on how to navigate educational paths and competitive exams. Her story is a shining example of how rural students can reach the highest echelons of government service through persistence.

The success of Dr Amisha Garasia is a landmark moment for the tribal community in Dharampur and Valsad. It highlights the shifting landscape of 2026 where women from rural backgrounds are breaking barriers and taking on leadership roles in the healthcare sector. As she prepares to take on her new responsibilities as a Class 1 officer the people of Nani Vahiyal celebrate her as a local hero. Her journey from cycling through forest paths to becoming a top ranked state official serves as a reminder that geographical limitations cannot bound a person with a strong will and a clear vision for their future.
