Kaprada Earthquake Tremors: Villages Gripped by Fear (2026 Update) Earthquake Tremors Felt in Kaprada Villages

A sense of fear and anxiety has spread among villagers in the Dabakhal–Dinbari belt of Kaprada taluka after repeated earthquake tremors were felt over the past two days. Residents of Matuniya, Dabakhal, and Dinbari villages in the Parada area experienced sudden ground vibrations, prompting panic and forcing many people to rush out of their homes. The continuous occurrence of these tremors, especially during night hours, has left villagers anxious and sleepless, worried about the possibility of a stronger earthquake.

According to local residents, the first noticeable earthquake tremor was felt late on Saturday night at around 11:00 pm. Villagers reported that the ground suddenly started shaking, catching everyone off guard. Many people initially thought it might be a heavy vehicle passing nearby, but the vibration was different and lasted long enough to cause concern. Startled by the movement, families stepped out of their houses in fear, trying to understand what was happening.

The anxiety deepened when a second tremor was experienced on Sunday evening at approximately 8:28 pm. Though this tremor was relatively mild, it was clearly felt across the villages of Matuniya, Dabakhal, and Dinbari. Residents stated that utensils inside homes began to move, ceiling fans were seen shaking slightly, and a noticeable vibration was felt underfoot. These signs confirmed to villagers that it was indeed an earthquake tremor and not a normal disturbance.

Vigneshbhai Fari Kuna, a resident of Matuniya village, shared his experience, stating that the sudden shaking created panic among villagers. He explained that during the first tremor, many people were preparing to sleep, and the unexpected movement caused widespread fear. After the second tremor the following evening, people became even more concerned, as repeated tremors over a short period are uncommon in the area.

Following the incidents, villagers from the Dabakhal–Dinbari region informed Talati-cum-Mantri Naranbhai Chaudhary about the earthquake tremors. Upon receiving the information, Talati Naranbhai Chaudhary acted promptly and conveyed the details to the Disaster Management Department as well as the Taluka Development Officer. He stated that all information received from villagers would be officially recorded and forwarded to higher authorities for further assessment.

The repeated earthquake tremors have significantly affected daily life in these villages. Fear has been particularly evident among elderly residents, women, and children. Many villagers reportedly avoided sleeping indoors during the night, choosing instead to stay outside their homes or remain alert, fearing that another tremor could occur while they were asleep. The psychological impact of the shaking has been considerable, even though the tremors were mild in intensity.

Despite the panic, there has been no report of loss of life or major property damage so far, which has provided some relief to residents. Houses, public buildings, and basic infrastructure remain intact, and no injuries have been reported. Authorities have emphasized that this absence of damage is reassuring, but they have also acknowledged the importance of remaining cautious.

Talati Naranbhai Chaudhary appealed to villagers to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors. He advised residents to maintain peace and assured them that the situation is being monitored. Villagers were also instructed to submit written information at the taluka office so that an official record of the incidents can be maintained. According to the talati, detailed information will be passed on to senior officials, who may decide to involve the Geological Department or disaster response teams if required.

Villagers have expressed concern over the cause of the earthquake tremors and have demanded a proper investigation. They want experts to examine whether these tremors are linked to geological activity in the region or if there are other underlying reasons. Residents believe that understanding the cause is essential to prevent panic and to prepare for any future risk.

Local people have also urged the administration to take precautionary measures to ensure safety in case of a stronger earthquake. Suggestions from villagers include awareness programs on earthquake safety, guidance on emergency response, and regular communication from authorities to keep people informed. Many residents feel that timely information and preparedness can significantly reduce fear and confusion during such events.

The Kaprada earthquake tremors have once again highlighted the vulnerability of rural areas to natural phenomena and the importance of disaster preparedness. Even mild tremors can create widespread panic when people are unsure about what is happening or what to expect next. Authorities are now expected to closely monitor the situation and provide clear updates to reassure the public.

As of now, the situation in Matuniya, Dabakhal, and Dinbari villages remains calm, though fear lingers among residents. People are hoping that no further tremors will occur and that official investigations will soon clarify the reasons behind the recent seismic activity. Until then, villagers continue to remain alert, prioritizing the safety of their families while awaiting further instructions from the administration.
