Viksit Bharat RAMJI Scheme to Transform Valsad Villages: 125 Days of Employment Instead of 100 [Rural Jobs Boost]
Valsad Villages to Get 125 Days of Guaranteed Employment A major transformation is set to take place in the rural landscape of Valsad district as the central government introduces a new ambitious employment initiative aimed at strengthening village economies and improving the lives of laborers. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the long-running MGNREGA scheme is now being replaced by a new law titled “Viksit Bharat – Rojgar aur Aajeevika Mission Gramin,” commonly referred to as the VBG RAMJI Act 2025. This historic development was formally announced during a press conference held at the Valsad Circuit House, where District In-Charge Minister Naresh Patel and Member of Parliament Dhaval Patel shared detailed information about the scheme.
Addressing the media, In-Charge Minister Naresh Patel stated that the bill for the VBG RAMJI scheme has already been passed by both houses of Parliament and has received formal approval from the President of India. With this approval, the scheme is now ready for implementation across rural India, including the villages of Valsad district. He emphasized that this decision marks a significant milestone for rural development and labor welfare, as it directly targets employment security and economic stability for the working class in villages.
One of the most significant features of the VBG RAMJI scheme is the increase in guaranteed employment days. Under the earlier MGNREGA framework, rural laborers were entitled to 100 days of employment per year. This limit has now been increased to 125 days, providing an additional 25 days of assured work and wages. This change is expected to bring substantial financial relief to daily wage laborers and tribal workers, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas of Valsad district.
The scheme will be implemented entirely through Gram Panchayats, ensuring that development work is planned and executed at the local level. According to officials, this decentralised approach will accelerate rural infrastructure projects and ensure that employment opportunities are generated within the villages themselves. As a result, laborers will no longer need to migrate to cities in search of work, helping to stabilise rural communities and family structures.
MP Dhaval Patel highlighted that transparency and technology form the backbone of the new VBG RAMJI scheme. In the past, workers often faced long delays in receiving wages, sometimes waiting for months. Under the new system, wages will be transferred directly to workers’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) within just seven days. This rapid payment mechanism is designed to eliminate middlemen, reduce corruption, and ensure that workers receive their rightful earnings without delay.
To further curb irregularities, the scheme introduces biometric attendance for workers. This step will prevent fake entries and ensure that only genuine workers receive benefits. In addition, all development works undertaken under the scheme will be geo-tagged, allowing real-time monitoring and verification. Social audits have also been made mandatory, ensuring transparency, accountability, and quality control in every project carried out under the VBG RAMJI framework. The funding structure of the scheme includes a 60 percent contribution from the central government and 40 percent from the state government.
Special provisions have been included to protect agricultural interests. During critical farming periods such as sowing, harvesting, or peak seasonal agricultural activity, state governments will be empowered to temporarily suspend government work under the scheme for up to 60 days in a year. This flexibility will allow laborers to engage in agricultural work when demand is high, benefiting both workers and farmers while ensuring that food production is not affected.
During the BJP-organised event in Valsad, both the minister and the MP stressed that the VBG RAMJI scheme is not merely an employment programme but a comprehensive mission to make villages self-reliant. For tribal laborers living in the interior areas of Valsad district, 125 days of guaranteed employment is being seen as a major step toward economic security. The scheme aims to bridge development gaps and ensure inclusive growth across rural regions.
With the rollout of the new scheme, Gram Panchayats will be granted greater authority and responsibility. Minister Naresh Patel added that this empowerment will lead to more effective local governance and faster execution of development projects. Improved income stability for workers is expected to raise living standards and reduce distress migration from villages to urban areas.
By integrating employment, agriculture, and rural development into a single mission, the VBG RAMJI Act 2025 is expected to play a crucial role in fulfilling the vision of a Viksit Bharat. For Valsad district, the scheme promises a new chapter of growth, dignity for laborers, and a sustainable rural economy. As implementation begins, expectations are high that this ambitious initiative will bring long-term positive change to villages and rural households across the region.
