Minor Caught with Country Made Pistol in Ghelkhadi Navsari
A tense situation unfolded in the Ghelkhadi area of Navsari city early Wednesday morning when a minor was spotted wandering openly with a country made pistol commonly known as a desi katta. The sight of a young boy carrying a lethal weapon created immediate panic and fear among the local residents. However before any unfortunate incident could occur the locals showed immense bravery by cornering and capturing the minor themselves.
According to the details of the incident the residents of Ghelkhadi noticed a suspicious teenager walking around with the weapon in his hand during the early morning hours. Realizing the danger several young men from the neighborhood gathered quickly and surrounded him. The angry locals managed to overpower the minor and reportedly tied him up with ropes to prevent any escape or attack before informing the police control room.
Upon receiving the information the Special Operations Group SOG team rushed to the spot. The police took custody of the minor and seized the country made pistol along with live cartridges. Police Inspector D D Ladumor and his team arrived at the scene to stabilize the situation and manage the gathered crowd. The presence of a firearm in a residential area being carried by a minor has raised serious concerns regarding the local security and the accessibility of illegal weapons.
During the preliminary investigation it was revealed that the minor is originally a resident of Uttar Pradesh. He had previously been living in the Ghelkhadi area with a friend. It appears that a dispute had broken out between the two friends recently. The minor had reportedly come to the area on a holiday with the specific intention of scaring or attacking his former friend to settle the grudge. The Navsari police are now conducting a deeper investigation to find out how the minor obtained the illegal weapon and if there are any larger networks involved.
